It’s February and once again I’m weaving together my theme of harmony and the “word of the month” from my meditation groups. Jackie Valdez – Intuitive Counselor and Saints in Training Founder – has given wisdom as her “word of the month” with intellectualism as its saboteur. Expression is the word from Attunement, the healing circle I most recently joined.
I’m reflecting on the fact that I feel best when I’ve created harmony within myself and that of my personal space, or environment, by making wise choices. How I “feel” informs my expression in thought, word and action. This has become more important to me than what I know about something. “Knowledge is power” but if you don’t have the wisdom to use it appropriately, its value is useless, even destructive.
This view is deepening my practice of self-inquiry or svadhyaya – Sanskrit for self-study – and how I express myself. Helping others through my creativity, skills and experience keeps me in harmony with my dharma – inner wisdom in Sanskrit – my path – for peace, presence and purpose. Self-expression is paramount to my health and well-being.
PRAYER
Oh Infinite Holy Spirit, Mother-Father God: May I live in harmony within myself, practicing forgiveness and viewing all in spiritual perspective, loving myself despite my follies and foibles. May I extend this to others with the practice of understanding and compassion.
May I have the courage to express myself, wisdom guiding me always. May I experience the mystical, even amid the mundane. May my creative expressions promote harmony within and around me.
With God’s blessings, for this I pray. And so it is. Aho!
“Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony.”
